Caregivers
Adult Day Centers provide programming and services that are beneficial for both caregivers and their loved ones.
What are Adult Day Centers?
Adult day centers offer daytime programs that provide person-centered programming to support each participant’s mental and physical strengths.
Caregivers often find comfort in the home-away-from-away home, supervised programs that provide the social interaction and activities adults need.
Adult day programs also allow the caregiver time away to focus on other aspects of life, including self-care so caregivers can be the best they can be.
Is an Adult Day Program right for me and my loved one?
Adult day services are an affordable option to long-term care that enables older adults who need support to live in their homes longer.
These programs are a great option for caregivers who want to provide their loved ones with more opportunities for life-enriching socialization and companionship outside of the home.
Adult day programs also allow caregivers to continue working, run errands, and attend to other aspects of life, including themselves.
Many adult day programs welcome participants with dementia and have trained staff on how to communicate and respond to dementia-related behaviors.
Whether your loved one is independent or needs supervision, adult day center staff are trained to understand each person’s unique needs.

Older Ohioans on PASSPORT (Medicare and Medicaid) or who received VA benefits may be able to attend programs for little or no cost.
